The mission of the South Carolina Emerging Tech Association Inc. (SCETA) is to foster innovation by creating an economic development initiative within the state that advocates, educates, and attracts emerging technology growth throughout South Carolina.

Who we are

We started in 2018 as PalmettoChain, Inc., a grass roots group of blockchain enthusiasts that believe every individual, business, and branch of government in the great state of South Carolina can benefit from this and other emerging technologies.

Since our inception we have recognized that blockchain combined with other emerging techs, like artificial intelligence and robotics, are already creating efficiencies and are just at the outset of developing systems heretofore unimaginable. These technologies are creating new business models and eliminating third party intermediaries, increasing efficiencies through decentralization providing transactional transparency, auditability and eliminating systemic bottlenecks, while maintaining integrity of siloed, proprietary data.

We believe that South Carolina can become a world leader by adopting an appropriate economic development plan that woos the software and hardware technology companies, startups and entrepreneurs creating this paradigm and is intended to complement the state’s current “smokestack” manufacturing model of tax credits and other economic incentives.

We have the knowledge, experience, and network to get this done.
